Check out Dolls House and Miniatures Scene magazine (#192, June 2010)- there's my article on how to make leather buckets, pattens, tankards and costrels.
I enjoy making minis out of leather - it's pliable and forgiving (usually!) and very tactile.
Wow...congratulation Glenda! I would love to read the article, but I don´t find that magazine i Denmark. Working in leather is something I haven´t done yet, but I do have to try. There are so many objects that I would love to make...
Neomi - it's a British magazine, and not often on sale here in New Zealand - but it's at our local library. I'm not sure about distribution around the rest of the world.
Hi again Brenda. I was looking through your old posts and found that I never as wanted, remembered to tell you something we have in common ;0) Until last year my husband and I had a small company "Ravens nest", selling medieval tents, clothing and stuff. We used to join the European Medieval Festival and our wedding 2 yeras ago was kind of medieval/pagan theme. With lots of tents, medieval food and music... Just wanted to tell you ;0)
So much fun, Annie! - usually in public I'm quite reserved, but as soon as I was dressed in medieval clothes I felt really different, outgoing and confident! Maybe I was different in a past life . . . ;)
What a thrill, I'll have to find the article. Perhaps you do have memories of a previous life that draw you, who knows? It's kind of tantalising to think about it and makes as much sense as any alternatives.
I have to see if I can find it somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the publication :)
