Baskets!! and giveaway update
Welcome to new followers!!
Baskets seem to be popular!
I spent a happy day yesterday making more baskets and trays. I'm not really happy with the trays, as I made the bases from some .6mm veneer - two pieces glued in different directions. They were fine until I saw them this morning - they'd been in the sun and had curled a bit. Not too noticeable, but I'll have to work on improving the method.
The four black ones are Hogwarts themed colours.
Giveaway update - I have added two more basket sets, so now there will be seven winners.
See previous post for pics.
It's on March 31st - good luck!

Best wishes from Glenda
They look really nice, you're a perfectionist aren't you ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend,
Ira
Haha, you caught me, Ira! It's an affliction I've learned to live with. :)

Oh Glenda... Your baskets are wonderful! I love all the shapes and colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteI had fun - they all gave a different impression to me when I made them. Some seemed 'english', some seemed 'shabby chic', and the green ones look strangely like Maori flax-woven ethnic baskets.

I love the little baskets! So pretty. I won't even enter your generous giveaway as I have already been the recipient of your beautiful little rugs! Thank you again. I cherish them!

I love them all....the flat trays are definitely very ethnic looking.
ReplyDeleteAh, Jody - go on, enter the giveaway!! No-one would deny you that!

It's good that you've learned to live with the perfectionism - I have problems with the minis and my perfectionism - I have all these great ideas and visions but the end result is far from what I had in mind... Well, a bit of practise wouldn't hurt, but I also lack tons of patience so you can imagine the equation... Ripping my hair out occasionally :D
ReplyDeleteI've begun to learn that 'perfect' isn't human-friendly! When there's an imperfection (and there always is), I tell myself a story about how it came to have some 'character'!
ReplyDeleteAlso, if something doesn't go well, I put it away until I think of a better way - this usually happens in the middle of the night or in the shower!
I do have a lot of UFOs (UnFinished Objects) littering my room.
Practicing isn't my idea of a good time - I hated learning the piano. :P
